The Good Cause:
Micah has been a happy & healthy 5 year old boy, since his VBAC birth into the arms of UCLA Medical Center midwives. We have been a green family for 8 years, growing food, feeding & breathing as organic as it'll come in Los Angeles!

To our surprise on September 15, 2011 Micah was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He was hospitalized for 3 weeks and endured countless procedures and treatments. Micah has been extraordinarily calm, brave and responsive to holistic ways of coping with pain, discomfort, fear and stress.

ALL is treatable and has an 85% cure rate. Micah has weekly chemo at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center Cancer Clinic until June 2012, then monthly until 2014. He was hospitalized again, over Halloween weekend, for a fever and low red blood cell count. We anticipate that he will be hospitalized again and again, as much as is needed to keep him well during cancer treatment.

Don, Micah's dad, is working hard to keep our health insurance and keep up with the numerous and continuous medical bills. I'm working hard loving, supporting and caring for Micah and his 2 sisters. We are so grateful to the Steele Families and dear San Diego friends and community for organizing and supporting this fundraiser with love and generosity.

Last weekend a few friends and I got together to make this video that we entered into the Doritos Super Bowl commercial contest. It was a super fun day spent with good friends and definitely tons of laughter going down! Special thanks to Brendan O'neill and Jake Fedder for bringing me on board to act in the commercial as well as to style the shoot with Bubululu Malibu swimwear and organic clothing. Actress Chelsea Bulte was wearing our "Beach Dress" in Royal and "The Hut" boy short and "Kalani" halter top in Bella Leopard, actress Jackie Wallack was wearing our "One Shoulder Mini" in Orange Floral and the "Wildlife" bottom and "Kendra" bandeau in Neon Peach, and I was wearing our "Aruba Dress" in teal and then my Bubululu "Mila" bow halter and "Fernhill" bow bottom in the color Emma Green. MIAMI SWIM SHOW 2012

So the 36 hour trip to Miami Swim turned out to be quite a success! Our Bubululu Malibu and Tysa booth looked absolutely beautiful thanks to our little miss Sunkissed Gypsy :) Not only did we pick up some great accounts on the east and west coast of the US, but starting in November, Bubululu Malibu will be selling in the UK!!!

Not only did we meet some great buyers, but we made a bunch of new friends that took Misty and I out on the town for a fun photo shoot and a long night of karoke! Funny or Die Premiere at Malibu Inn

Funny Or Die is a comedy video website founded by Will Ferrell. The one-of-a-kind hilarious video website contains a good deal of exclusive material from a number of celebrity contributors. The directors and producers of Funny or Die teamed up with Malibu's Event Planning and Production company 'Sicky Dicky'. They hosted a premiere at Malibu Inn for a video called "Keepin' it Real Estate" featuring our very own Malibu Real Estate Agent Madison Hildebrand. At the Premiere the "Bitches" aka sexy bartenders wore their Bubululu and served Capri Sun and Rum to the guest all night!

But there is one other thing I adore about Malibu. It’s fashion, and a hot little swimwear line called Bubululu Malibu.

Bubululu trip to Bali

Last month on my trip to Bali. I was soo fortunate to meet some of the most incredible people, I am now blessed to call good friends :) Photographer Fiorenzo Nisi and unbelievably gorgeous model, Diana Rose.

Here is how our adventure began...
We met at the opening of the W Hotel Bali through mutual friends. Fio asked me to style a shoot he was doing with items from Bubululu Malibu for his exhibit. Styling is one of my main passions, I of course said yes. Fio checked out our Bubululu Malibu website and noticed I was the model for our brand, he asked if I would model and style the shoot... Well you know my answer to that- Yes, of course! :)

A few days later we hopped on a boat and went to an island off Bali called Gili, to start our three day shoot. Over these three days we shared many great laughs and told many personal stories, it brought us closer together. We ate delicious food, incredible chocolate cake, saw gorgeous sunsets and boogied down at the wild mushroom bar (with people from all walks of life).

I want to thank Fiorenzo for bringing me along, introducing me to gorgeous Model Diana Rose, shooting Bubululu Malibu, and treating us to a beautiful weekend of indulgences. Please take a moment to read this little bio about my dear friend and check out his amazing photographs that he took during our mystical weekend.

'Photografio' is the newest hottest photo studio in Bali. It focuses on: lifestyle, fashion, video for advertising, editorial and online purposes. Fiorenzo Nisi, the man behind the lens, has passion and love for photography. He’s gain this passion and love from 30 years working in many spheres of communications. His uniqueness as a photographer is supported by his depth of experience in the moving image as well as a genuine understanding of the commerciality photography.

For 10 years Fio worked in Italy as an Advertising Sales Executive, many titles including: Uomo Vogue, Grazia and Marie Claire. He was exposed to the biggest fashion and luxury brand accounts. Interacting closely with the top Fashion Editors and Magazine Directors of the time.

In the 90's Fio moved to the United States where he worked as a Producer and Photo Agent. Here he worked closely, mentored and was influenced by major fashion and advertising photography talents. Some of which include Patric Dermachellier, Ellen Von Unverth and Andrew MacPerson. Working with these artists, he produced global advertising campaigns, music videos, endless editorial and magazine covers for Joop, Paciotti, Marlboro, and many more. Inspired by this wealth of talent in New York, he studied cinematography at the School of Visual Arts. He specialized in film-making and shot several videos and documentaries.

Fio made his move to Bali in 2001, where he expanded his creative repertoire into fashion, designing, manufacturing and shooting clothing ranges. He worked for Alberta Ferreti, Blumarine, Pinko and many other renowned fashion brands. During this period he further his video and photography skills, shooting for local brands, villas, parties and media.

Now Fio has decided to combine his years of experience to provide an unparalleled photography service in Bali. Through his new photo studio, he aims to truly capture light, color and the beauty in any moment through his work. Showcasing people, landscape and life with the vibrant, joyful energy of the Island of the Gods.

It was the opening event for the MSA Classic Surfing Contest presented by the Malibu Surfing Association, honoring noted artist/ photographer Steven Lippman and his Blue Project. In 1999, physician and surfer Dr Dave Jenkins went on a surf charter to the Mentawai Islands with one goal in mind: to find perfect waves.

The surf proved to be everything he hoped for but he also found the Mentawai people, mostly women and children, suffering and dying from the ravages of malaria and other preventable diseases.

Dave found that he was unable to just walk away. It was a defining life moment. He sought support from long-time friend Dr Steve Hathaway, an epidemiologist, and in January 2000 they co-founded SurfAid International, a non-profit organization dedicated to the alleviation of human suffering through community-based health programs.

In the aftermath of the 2004 Asian Tsunami and 2005 Nias Earthquake, SurfAid expanded its operations to Nias. With the support of the New Zealand and Australian Governments, the global surfing and wider community, and most importantly the Mentawai and Nias people of the affected areas themselves, SurfAid has come to exemplify the healing power of cross-cultural partnerships."
